I'm back baby!!

Hello to all the teachers out there!!

I haven't been on my blog for a while because of my studies last year and this year. I've been studying hard and learning a lot. Being a teacher is hard work, I can tell you that! Learning to draw up lesson plans, marking sheets, marking tests, books, assignments! The list goes on and on! I really do admire teachers, not because I'm one but because not just anyone can become a teacher. It takes a lot of courage and passion for what you do, dedication and perseverance is also important. Every teacher I know has a huge soft heart and has a passion for working with children. We learn not only who our students are but also who we are during our journey as an educator.

Obstacles

"Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it." ~Michael Jordan~

Hello everyone!

This is my first time writing to you from here in South-Africa in a year. I am very glad to be back but I miss the USA though. Now that one door closed to the USA another one opened here. I was terrified when I left here, new places to see, new people to meet and adventures to have, all by myself! Now that I am back, I thought that everything would just fall into place, but was I wrong! Now I have to start all over again, new places to see, new people to meet and new adventures to have. Every new path you walk, new hurdles will pop out of nowhere. These challenges you face, whether it’s once in a while or every day, believe it or not, is put there for a reason, insane right? Right! I don’t always believe that especially if the hurdle is really hard to overcome. My obstacle that I have to overcome is starting school again. I have to make new friends, get to know all the lectors, get to know the area and get to know myself again. Everybody says it will be easy but really, it won’t. It feels like I have been pushed out on my own once again, this feeling I experienced a year ago when I left for the USA on my own. I guess if I could handle that on my own, this will be a piece of cheese cake. I pray that the Lord will be with me and everyone else that feel that they can’t handle this new and strange hurdle coming their way, please show us how to handle life and guide us through all the twists and turns. I know that at the end of the storm, peace and tranquility waits for those who take on life with the Lord by their side.

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, "I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along." . . . You must do the thing you think you cannot do!!

Good luck to everyone that just started a new job, just started school again or went to school for the first time and remember, for every mountain there is a miracle.

You are special!

Hello again everyone!

Hope everything is going fantastic with everyone back home!

"You are the only you God made... God made you and broke the mold." ~ Max Lucado

This month had been pretty normal so far. School for the boys, my host parents working more and summer said its good bye! With autumn upon us more and more people are getting sick. First the boys were sick, then I got sick then Christopher got sick again! Just when I thought everything went back to normal my best friend got sick too and so did my host mom! Between all this chaos going on, the hectic schedules, flu bugs, carving pumpkins and decorating for Halloween I decided I need to focus and take a deep breath again. It’s difficult to take a moment in your busy day to really appreciate the little things that makes an average day extra special! Every day before I start working I take a walk and sit in the park where I get the boys when they get off the big yellow school bus. I cherish each moment of silence I have because once the boys are back from school, there is no turning back! The park is really pretty this time of year, the squirrels are running around gathering food for winter and just having a ball of a time. The leaves are also changing colours; green, brown, yellow and dark red. It is amazing how so many colours can make a tree really visible between all the other trees. Just like all the leaves have a special colour, each one of us has something special about us. Life becomes precious and more special to us when we look for the little everyday miracles and get excited about the privileges of simply being human. We all are unique and special with our unique talents and gifts, the Lord gave you talents to use it in His name and spread the world! So go out and try to make a difference in someone else’s life, who knows; that person might have a ton on his shoulders and just needs a smile, you might just make that person’s day!

One last quote: "Remember, you are special because I made you. And I don't make mistakes."~ God

Until next month, Bon Voyage!

Lots of love
