I am a Second Year teacher student studying for my Bachelors Degree in Education. Here I will post ideas for lessons, ask questions for other teachers out there and share advice. =)

Finaly here!
So I finally arrived in America. We had a 9 hour flight from Johannesburg to Frankfurt and than a 7 hour flight to the New Wark airport in New Gersey. It was snowing when we arrived so I saw saw snow for the first time ever!! We were 15 South-African Au Pairs traveling together and becoming great friends. The orientation was quite a drag and most of the things I already knew but I had to sit through it. Today is my 3rd day with my host family and I already went bowling for the first time ever! They are truelly amazing and sooooooo much fun. I already feel a part of the family but I seriously don't like the weather, I'm losing my South-African tan! It's very differant here from South-Africa, the people, the technology and the food! I really don't want to gain weight with all this fast food.

You will be fine. Enjoy every minute of this adventure, it is something that you will be able to share with your kids (if you still want to have you own after this experience). Memories are something that no one can ever take away from you, so collect happy memories my child and keep it save in your heart.
